The Golf Club at Rancho California (formally known as SCGA Golf Club), is known as one of the finest competitive venues in golf, has carried a storied history since its inception in 1970. Designed by legendary Architect Robert Trent Jones Sr., who is known for several championship designs in California such as Mission Viejo CC, Valencia CC and Spyglass Hill in Pebble Beach, the golf course was opened for play 1971 as Murrieta Golf Club.
In 1994, after a 20 year planning process to acquire a Championship golf facility, the property was purchased by the Southern California Golf Association and became the “Home” golf course for its more than 130,000 members, 500 affiliate golf clubs and has hosted numerous top level competitive events including; Senior PGA Tour Qualifying, the California State Open and the CIF State Golf Championships, just to name a few. |
